Mary Jane Farrenkopf

June 27, 1925 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old


Mary Jane (Frascatore) Farrenkopf , 92, formerly from North Mark Drive, Oxford, entered into eternal peace on August 1, 2017.

Mary was born on June 27, 1925,  in Watertown, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Anthony and Saletta Frascatore.  Mary graduated from Watertown High School and worked as an administrative assistant for several years in Boston, MA., Wethersfield, CT. and Smithtown, NY. She was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent Frascatore and Anthony Frascatore and one sister, Virginia Brescia.  She is survived by her sister, Eva McNutt.

Mary was married to the love of her life for 50 years, Charles Edward Farrenkopf (deceased) and was the proud and loving mother to six children.  She is survived by her children, Bruce Farrenkopf and his wife, Paula, Douglas Farrenkopf and his wife, Michele, Dennis Farrenkopf and his wife, Karen, Jeffrey Farrenkopf and his wife,  Joan, and Cindy Hennessy and her husband, Christopher. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lauren Farrenkopf.

Mary is survived by 10 grandchildren, Stacey Piesco, Jason Moore, Geoffrey Farrenkopf, James Farrenkopf, Dustin Farrenkopf, Kristen Martin, Lindsay Henderson, Ryan Farrenkopf, Jesse Farrenkopf and Kimberly Farrenkopf and four step grandchildren, Christopher, Paul, Michael and Jessica.  She is survived by five great grandchildren, Caroline, Chase, Quinn, Sophia and Hayden, and 6 step-grandchildren, Gianna, Mikeala, Julian, Cristian, Kylee and Oliver.

Mary moved to Oxford, CT. in 1987 where she was actively involved in the St. Thomas, the Apostle Church, for many years, singing in the choir and serving as a cantor during the mass.  Her fondest memories were of her times there with her friends. 

Mary also volunteered at the Shady Knoll Senior Center, visiting the elderly and bringing joy to their day.

For the past two years Mary had resided with her son in Bethel and at the time of her death, was a resident of the Maplewood at Stony Hill.

Mom, we will miss your loving, family centered warmth but we know you are singing with the angels.  Rest in Peace!

The Farrenkopf Family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful attention given to Mary by the caring staff at Maplewood and to the staff of the Regional Hospice for easing Mary into her eternal home.

Cremation will be performed at the convenience of the family.  A Memorial Service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford, CT. on August 18, 2017 at 11 AM.
