Mark Peterson, 60, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in the company of close family and friends. Mark was born in Waterbury, January 7, 1957, son of late Mary (Reynolds) Peterson and Alexander Peterson, both of Bethlehem. He was raised in Bethlehem and attended local schools. After 35 years of working as a telephone lineman in Woodbury he went on to work for the Town of Bethlehem Public Works where he was employed until his passing. Mark was a dedicated worker and a devoted and loving father. He always had a way of bringing comic relief in any situation and was constantly making people around him smile. He loved life and time spent with family and friends, especially while listening to live music at the Shamrock Pub and Grill. Mark will be remembered for his loyalty and for always being there for those he loved. He will truly be missed by all. Mark is survived by his children, Kerry Peterson of Southbury and Nicholas Peterson of Woodbury; late wife Gayle (Kwaraceius) Peterson; cousin and best friend Tom Woodin of Bethlehem; cousin Kathy Doherty of Bethlehem; beloved friend Russ Peterson of Bethlehem; sister Patti Borrowski and and her husband Darren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Marks family would like to express their sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at Waterbury Hospital and Vitas staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their care and compassion. Calling hours will be held from 10 am-12 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, followed by a private burial. The family invites everyone to join them after the private burial at Shamrock Pub and Grill 210 Meadow Street Waterbury to celebrate Mark's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colon Cancer Alliance 1025 Vermont Ave., NW, Suite 1066, Washington, DC 20005.
