Marilyn J. Koenig

Marilyn J. Koenig "Nanny" 84, of Woodbury, Ct. passed peacefully at the Watertown Convalarium on December 28, 2016 after a brief illness. 
She was born May 9, 1932, to the late Harvey Hiltz and Leah (Morse) Hiltz, in Bridgeport CT., and a graduate of Milford High school. 
Marilyn was the co-founder of Gayelyn Yorkshire Terriers with her late partner Barbara Welch. As an active member of the Yorkshire Terrier Club of Greater New York, Marilyn served as show chairman for many years. Marilyn was also a member of the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. She is fondly remembered by her fellow club members for her great wit and loyalty to her beloved breed.
Marilyn leaves her 3 adopted children of her late partner Barbara Welch... Sloane (Nick) Verrastro of Bethlehem, Michael (Sheila) Welch of Stafford Springs, and Guyer (Eileen) Welch of Charlestown, RI.
Marilyn also leaves her sister Lila Stokes, brother Harvey (Gloria) Hiltz all of Milford, 
cousin Linda Bailey of Southbury, many nieces, nephews, and her dear friend Beryl Hesketh in Florida. 
She was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Hiltz, Marjorie "Marty" Femine, Helen Golden, and her cousin and friend "Ginny" Virginia Parkhurst.
Marilyn was always thankful for her many friends and support over the years.

Per Marilyn's wishes there are no calling hours, or funeral services.
