Judith Sue Goldberg Rockwell “Grandma Judi “age 75 passed away at 12:15 pm on Sunday July 23rd 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury from complications of heart surgery. Born on September 22nd 1941 in Bridgeport at St. Vincent’s Hospital, to Meyer and Florence Goldberg. Judi graduated from Andrew Ward High School in 1959, where she enjoyed drama club, academics and spending time with friends.

Judi married Harold Paul Wilkes in 1964 and had  two sons, Mark Raymond Wilkes and Jason August Wilkes, their union split in 1977. Judi later married again to John J Rockwell together with Judi’s sons they returned to Bethlehem. Judi and John eventually went their own ways but Judi never left Bethlehem. Judi had a special place in her heart for Bethlehem and its people. She spent her adult life in Bethlehem working at The Painted Pony Restaurant, Woodbury Telephone Co. (AT&T), Nick’s Country Kitchen and Sunny Ridge Supermarket. Judi volunteered time to Bethlehem Ambulance Assoc. as an ambulance driver, The Christmas town festival and Bethlehem Fair. Judi dedicated her life to Bethlehem and its residents. When the town or a resident was in need she was there sacrificing time, an ear, a shoulder whatever was needed.

Besides her sons Judi leaves behind a brother David Goldberg, Cherry Hill NJ, her daughter in law Mitzi C. Wilkes and 5 beautiful grandchildren, Charles R. Wilkes, Chloe R. Wilkes, Taylor L. Wilkes, Rylie A. Wilkes and Ellie G. Wilkes. Her grandchildren were her life she would do anything at any time for them. There will be a celebration of Judi “Grandma Judi” Rockwell’s life at the green in Bethlehem Ct., on August 2nd at 5:00 P.M. Judi’s favorite color was yellow if you’d like to wear yellow please feel free. Following the celebration anyone who wishes can join us at The Painted Pony Restaurant. Arrangements were entrusted to Munson Lovetere Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the funeral home, Judi Rockwell Funeral Services c/o Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, P.O.
