Anna Jasensky
Bethel, CT – Anna Marie Jasensky, a resident of Bethel Health Care Center, died on February 2, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born on December 14, 1923 in Pueblo, Colorado to the late Frank and Concetta Moro. Anna is survived by her brother Frank Moro, her sons, Robert and John, and daughter-in-law, Elyse Jasensky. Anna’s husband, John Jasensky, predeceased her in March 1999, and her son, Frank, passed away in December 2016. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Prior to entering Bethel Health Care Center, she and her husband lived in New Milford, CT, Southbury, CT, and were long-time residents of Port Chester, NY where they raised their children. Anna and John met on a blind date while John was on furlough prior to going off to war during World War II, and it was love at first sight! They only dated for two weeks, but Anna knew that John was everything she wanted in a husband. Apparently, John felt the same way as he proposed to her in a letter while in Europe. Anna’s response was, “How fast can you get here to go ring shopping?” She and John spent 57 wonderful years together. They were devoted to each other and their boys and lovingly accepted their sons’ wives as daughters. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of their lives. Anna was a waitress for many years in a deli in Port Chester where, due to her warm and funny personality, patrons would wait for a spot in her section to open. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation hours will be held at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home at 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT on Tuesday, February 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church at 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT immediately followed by interment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
